Music/songs is an integral and important part of our movies. We cannot even imagine our movies without the songs, with a few exceptions. Right from the earliest days of movie making upto 2024 there have been innumerable songs, a host of music directors, playback singers, lyrics writers, musicians who have worked hard to give us many musical memories to cherish.
I was born in late 70s, grew up in the 80s. Whatever songs I heard were on AIR Vividh Bharti and on television in programs like Chitrahaar, Chayageet and Rangoli. And also audio cassettes.
Well I really went on to listen to music more in last 2 to 3 years of 80s and entire 90s and 2000s. Then later on I began catching up with music from 60s, 70s and 80s.
Late 80s and 90s was a period when today's super stars had just entered the bollywood. Aamir, Salman, Saif, Shahrukh, Akshay, Ajay .....
90s changed bollywood's music and movie making I feel to a great extent. Though more massive changes were on its ways after entering 2000s. Let me keep others aside and keep my thoughts and track on 90s.
One special mention to the non - bollywood, Indi - pop that shook the entire decade which was never seen before on Indian entertainment scene.
